Well I guess I missed my monthly update last month, so maybe that means there'll be two this month, who knows it's still early. I was able to go see Candlebox recently and let me tell you it was a great show. I can honestly say, it's the most fun I've had at a concert ever. They are out right now promoting their Greatest Hits Album, and if you have the chance to see them I would definitely recommend it. It's amazing how many people I've talked to lately who don't even know who they are, it's a shame because they put on such a excellent show.
I've also had the opportunity to see a lot of new movies in the past month.
My Super Ex-Girlfriend was a decent movie, by no means spectacular but a good show -- probably more worth seeing once it's out on DVD.
Superman Returns I rather enjoyed, yet most people prefer Pirates over it but I personally liked this better.
Pirates of the Caribbean, I was able to see this movie twice once at the midnight showing and then the evening of the opening day. I enjoyed it, but it just didn't seem as great as the first one... I can't really place my finger on why though. It's definitely a hit at the box though, as at the time of this, it's already tripled it's budget of $225 million in sales. A couple movies out right now I'd like to see but will probably wait until DVD are Scoop and Clerks II.
DVD-wise I've seen within the past month or so Stoned (decent movie), ATL (so-so), Final Destination III (made the second one look good), The Benchwarmers (friggen hilarious -- still as funny as when I saw it in the theatres), and V for Vendetta (very, very good!). It's actually been rather slow on good movies being released on DVD lately.
And I'll leave you with this priceless picture from USA vs. China game on August 7.
The 2005-2006 NCAA Basketball season is officially over and the Florida Gators won it all. Some things of interest throughout the tournament and season are that Florida started the season hot and finished hot as well, they deserved to win. The Big East was by far the hardest conference of the year and got the most bids into the big dance, yet not one team made it to the Final Four. The ACC, who many announcers go on and on about, didn't even have a team make it to the Elite 8. The SEC, who was thought to be on a down year had two teams make the Final Four. Finally, Billy Packer still needs to quit or just shut up and sit there, he's got to be one of the worst announcers ever -- not to mention ignorant. When a guy can't even read off a piece of paper correctly, perhaps you should find another profession. (Referring to his foul up on the announcement of the brackets when he started reading off the wrong bracket.)
I've also finally updated the
DVD List again, adding 34 new movies. Hopefully from now on I shall update it on a daily/every other day basis - this also depends on how frequently I get new movies.
List is completely up to date now. Although more will be added tomorrow.
So check it out!
